The History

Howard Jackson has written horror fiction that includes a collection of short  stories and a horror novel, two unusual travel books and music and film criticism.

He has had articles printed in the Scottish national press, contributed to the rock and roll magazine ‘Not Fade Away’ (sadly now defunct) and had fiction published in Pen magazine.

He was a runner up in a national competition organised by Pluto Press for the best crime novel and his entry was accepted for publication by Pluto Press.

Howard Jackson has appeared on BBC Radio programmes.  He has discussed the significance of the career of Elvis Presley and the importance of the Gothic novels ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘Dracula’.

Howard Jackson reviews crime novels for the website Crime Chronicles.

Since 2010 he has been published by Red Rattle Books.
